Meatless Mondays Australia is about healthy and sustainable eating. It’s about going without meat one day a week to benefit your health and the health of the planet. It’s about a simple way to help reduce your ecological footprint and reconnect with food that is nutritious and good for you.
We want you to think about the environmental consequences of what you eat. To think about the energy, water and chemicals used to produce your food, as well as the fuel it takes to get it to your plate. We also want you to think about the health consequences of what you eat and what foods will serve your wellness long into the future.
Meat is one of the most resource intensive foods to produce but we’re not asking you to give it up entirely. We simply want you to know that reducing your meat intake not only lessens your environmental impact but also has proven health benefits that can help prevent a number of chronic diseases. And we can help with some delicious meat-free recipes for you to try to make your Monday menu easier. So do yourself and the planet a favour and eat less meat.
